Lily Allen Suffers Miscarriage
Lily Allen has suffered a miscarriage.
It was announced last month that the precocious British pop star was pregnant with the child of Chemical Brother Ed Simons, who she started dating in September. But after British tabloid The Sun reported the miscarriage on Thursday, a spokesperson for the 22-year-old Lily Allen confirmed the sad news with this statement:
“We can confirm that Lily Allen has suffered a miscarriage. She and her partner Ed Simons will be making no further comment and we ask that their privacy be respected during this difficult time.”
Allen and Simons, 37, recently returned to London, England after holidaying in the Maldives and she apparently suffered the miscarriage shortly after getting back.
Allen is expected to release the follow-up to 2006's Alright, Still album sometime this year. Britain's BBC3 has signed the perky singer to host a television show called Lily Allen And Friends, and she'll also appear with comedian Russell Brand in a filmed spoof of Jane Austen's classic novel, Pride And Prejudice.
