Kate Nash slams Lily's Space
Kate Nash has slammed rival Lily Allen for using website MySpace to get a record deal.
The 'Foundations' singer hates being compared to Lily Allen and insists she worked much harder to get in the charts, by organising her own concerts and handing out flyers out in the streets.
Kate fumed: "I've been boxed as the next Lily Allen because I'm a girl.
"We don't sound anything like each other. People have bunched a lot of new female artists together and called us the new Lily Allens.
"Some days I wish someone would just hack into MySpace and destroy it.
"It's annoying when people write about MySpace like it's the most important thing. It's not as important as people coming to your shows. It's not as important as what I did - taking flyers and demos everywhere I went, and going up to people on the street, and saying, 'Listen to this!' "
Despite her anti-Lily Allen tirade, Kate is listed as one of the 'Smile' singer's friends on her MySpace page and admits it gave her a helping hand in the music industry.
The 19-year-old musician said: "It's a tool of our generation - a way of getting music to people. I didn't have to release any music, or know anyone in the industry, for people in America to hear my songs. That's because of MySpace."
